pride mobility has  power chairs for heavy  people like my self  I just bought on in april this year,  If you can find a provider  that    helps you get it.   I just went to my provider and they had  3 of the powerchairs in there lobby for sale   that would take heavy people like us hope this helps  donald

I would suggest trying Mobility2Enable.com for a Bariatric wheelchair. You can get on their website and either email or call them to get the necessary information on which chair would best fit you!  I was in search of a power wheelchair and noticed that they also had bariatric chairs available.

OK, Here is the scoop.  It is important that you choose an American based manufacturer.  There are many importers that are not manufacturers that are very inexpensive.  However, there are several problems with these importers.  First, the way you see it is the way you get it.  They import them and do not have the ability to do any modifications once they receive them in the United States.  In addition, many of the importers lack quality control.  Remember these companies bring them into the U.S. and many never open the box once the product arrives in the U.S.  The product goes from China to a shelf in a warehouse and after that to you.  With a United States manufacturer, some of there products may still come form China or some other countries, but these are true manufacturers bring the product in.  They understand manufacturing and quality control.  The other important thing to remember about an American based manufacturer is that when we order a product, like a wheelchair or a scooter from them we can order the seating in a number of sizes.  These manufacturers are ready and able to make the equipment the way you need it.  In my opinion Pride Mobility, Leisure Lift (PaceSaver) and Wheelchairs of Kansas are the three leading power wheelchair manufacturers.  For bariatric, heavy weight capacity power wheelchairs Wheelchairs of Kansas and Leisure Lift are the leaders.  We order many more Leisure Lift chairs because they are much more affordable and we have very good luck and good service from Leisure Lift.  I really like working with the people from Leisure Lift because they are knowledgeable and friendly.  Leisure makes The Boss series of power chairs that go from 450 up to 675 lb. weight capacity.  If a higher weight capacity is needed Wheelchairs of Kansas has the PEV-2000 with a 750 lb. weight capacity.  I would be happy to help with any questions you may have.  In addition, when you call us at Scooter Link, we can put you on with the manufacturer themselves for specific information and to help with the answers to your questions.  You can contact me directly at 1 888 910-0444 or go to our website at www.ScooterLink.com
