Standing Devices

Question: I'm in my 3rd year of university studying product design. At the moment I am creating a design for an elderly persons standing device. Do you have any information on standing devices? Whether or not a standing device for elderly persons would be helpful in today's world? Any information about current products would be of great help. ~Ed

Answer: I'm assuming by 'standing device' you are referring to 'lift device'. Lift devices are available for purchase in the form of lift chairs and lift cushions. Lift cushions and lift chairs work via hand control to elevate a chair upwards to standing position and lower it safely into a seated position. For more information on lift cushions and chairs visit the Lift Chairs page in our Mobility Aids Section.
