Jazzy Wheelchair

Question: can these wheel chairs be hauled in a car? If not, is there a hitch or
some way to attach a carrier to transport them?

Answer: Some of the power wheelchair models by Jazzy offer compact frames and quick and easy disassembly, which makes it easier to transport them in a vehicle. But taking your wheelchair apart every time you want to haul it in the car isn’t always possible or practical, so you do have other options. Pride Mobility - the company behind Jazzy chairs - has a division called Silver Star Lifts. Their products include lifts for power chairs. There are other manufacturers that specialize in wheelchair lifts, but you might also look into a wheelchair carrier or trailer that you can tow behind your car. Some of them are open trailers, in which case you’d want to get a wheelchair cover to protect the chair from the elements, but you can also find enclosed or covered carriers. Some of the more advanced models offer additional features like a tilt option for easier loading.

It is my opinion that Pride Mobility makes great power wheelchairs, electric scooters and lift chairs.  On the other hand, their Silver Star line of scooter & wheelchairs lifts leaves a lot to be desired.  Silver Star was an independent company about 6 years ago.  Although Silver Star was a fairly good name in the lift business, they were struggling to survive just before the purchase by Pride.  I understand Pride wanting to get into scooter & wheelchair lifts, but this is not what Pride specializes in.  On the other hand another manufacturer, Harmar, does specialize in wheelchair and scooter lifts.  We have been very satisfied with Harmar's lifts, warranties and service.  Although we display and sell both Silver Star and Harmar on our website, we prefer Harmar and let our customers know that when they call.  If you need a wheelchair or scooter lift it is important to have the year, make and model of your vehicle ready along with the make and model of your wheelchair or scooter.  With this information we can identify exactly which lift or lifts will work for you application.  We can ship the correct lift to your home or office or ship it to one of our nationwide installers.  Contact us when you're ready for a lift.  I think you will realize very quickly that we have the answers you need.  Oh and by the way, you can get 20% off your lift when you buy a power chair or scooter from us at http://scooterlink.com/
