Wheelchair Parking Stickers

Question: I would appreciate any information regarding where and how to obtain the wheelchair parking sticker. ~Ahmed

Answer: A disabled parking permit entitles the vehicle (in which it's posted) to park in a designated disabled parking space. Your permit must be displayed on the vehicle's dashboard or sun visor and can be moved from vehicle to vehicle. To apply for a disabled parking permit you must:

  • Fill out an application for Disabled Person Parking Permit (available at your local Driver and Vehicle License Issuing office.
  • Have a qualified Physician, Osteopathic Physician, Chiropractor or Occupational Therapist certify your disability.
  • Only the person applying for the permit can sign the application.
  • Mail in or personally hand your application into your local Driver and Vehicle License Issuing office.

Disabled person parking permits are generally free (may vary in some municipalities). You will be issued a temporary parking permit until you receive your permanent permit in the mail or if your disability is not considered permanent.
