Bath Stools

Bath Stools are accessible bath tools that provide comfort and safety in the bath tub and shower.

Bath stools are designed for people who need seating support when taking a bath or shower. Some types of bath stools are stand alone models; while other bath stools are mounted directly into the wall of the shower or bathroom. Mounted bath stools are sturdier and perhaps safer, but the downside of mounted bath stools is that they aren't moveable or portable.

Some mounted bath stools are foldable, meaning that you can fold them up into the wall when you're not using them. The foldable feature will save you a bit of space in the tub.

Most stand alone bath stools have safety handles attached. The handles provide both support and balance when you're entering or exiting the bathtub or shower. Some models even have contoured back rests for added comfort. Bath seats are designed to be slip-free and most have multiple holes in the seat for proper water drainage.

The leg tips on most bath stools have rubber over them to help stop the stool from slipping and sliding in the water. The legs are also built of anti-corrosive material so they don't rust or weaken. Some models even have holders on them to put hand held shower heads in.

Stand-alone bath stools are relatively lightweight and they are portable and quite easy to assemble. Most models have legs that are height adjustable and foldable. This makes them ideal for quick storage and travel.

Bath stools are available in various materials, sizes, styles, shapes, designs and colors. Make sure your bath stool is the right size and height for you and that it is comfortable as well. You also need to be sure that your bath stool is manufactured and designed to hold the weight of your body. This is a very important safety feature in itself, as a bath stool designed for lighter people may eventually give out on you. For added safety in the bath tub or shower cover the floor with an anti-slip mat, tape or anti-slip liquid.
